9 Delivery Services That Are Always Hiring

Are you currently looking for a job? If you are, one of the booming fields of work for gig workers, freelancers, and those just looking to make a little extra, is the delivery service industry.

The delivery industry is most recognizable by looking at different food delivery applications as well as grocery delivery applications as well. In fact most delivery services started out as an application  thanks to the rise in smartphone use.

If you’re looking for a job, here are eleven delivery services that are going to always be hiring for different areas.

Uber Eats

Quick and easy to use as well as quick and easy to apply, Uber Eats is one of the most well-known delivery services to date. The company first began back in 2014 and quickly grew at a rate that was highly unprecedented.

Instacart

Back in 2012, the founder of Instacart finally hit the jackpot and found a way to enter into the world of delivery. This delivery service addressed a niche area that was starting to become an annoyance for many people. That annoyance? Grocery shopping. Thanks to Instacart starting the trend, there are now several grocery delivery services following similar models such as H-E-B in Texas and Wal-Mart.

Uber

It took me a second to stop laughing at the thought of delivering people. Yet, that’s exactly what Uber does. The rideshare app is one of the most popular ways of getting around safely and preferably with someone who knows the area better than you do. It also has a pretty simple and straightforward application process. Once you are approved, some people go all out and provide their riders with gum, treats, preferred music, and the works! Do you have to do that? No, but it will definitely help your ratings go up.

Amazon Flex

Amazon Flex is a relatively new job started by none other than the big business itself, Amazon. As deliveries and delivery times are guaranteed sooner and sooner, it’d be hard to keep up with the billions of orders without a little additional help.  You can make a solid income with this position and the major downside is that you have to use your own vehicle. If you are okay with that, then apply!

GoPuff

What started as a hookah delivery service is now a booming business with two other delivery services, GoBeer and GoBooze, under its belt.

Unfortunately, they have hit a few hard times due to employee classification issues (drivers are independent contractors and warehouse workers are employees kind of thing). Despite the recent issues and major CoVID related layoffs, the company is still hiring.

Lyft

What started as Zimride, soon became one of the largest short-distance rideshare companies to date. With their constant competition with Uber, it’s amazing that the business has continued to grow.

If you remember the pink mustachioed vehicles in California, then you remember some of the original Lyft drivers before the company zoomed into the stratosphere.

DoorDash

I’ll be honest here: I use DoorDash kind of frequently. Time gets away from me and while prices may be higher on the app, I am definitely grateful for the drivers and their help!

The company is, among other food delivery services, one of the best that you can rely on at almost any time of day. For those interested, check out these DoorDash driver tips.

Postmates

Recently acquired by DoorDash, Postmates is another one of the interesting delivery services that tried to compete with the big companies (Amazon to be specific). Instead of trying to ship products all over, the idea was to deliver local items to local peoples. The business became international and hires locally.

Saucey

While Saucey isn’t all over the United States, it does operate out of 49 different cities across the continuous states. It grew in popularity like other alcohol related delivery services during COVID. They keep their goods professional and also hire bartenders who are able to make cocktails as well. There’s a lot to look for with this business so give them a try!

Drizly

Drizly is an alcohol related delivery service that also took great strides during CoVID. Their focus is more on the fun side instead of the more serious side of alcohol. They tend to have a strong policy on delivery and have grown even further in the past few years. Drizly is a company that focuses on working with drivers and local stores to increase the local economy and help the community.

Conclusion

Any one of these delivery services would be great to work for. There are always going to be pros and cons as well as shifts in the economy that can heavily affect these types of businesses.

However, because so many people rely on convenience shopping, driving, and delivery, it is doubtful that the delivery service field will die out any-time soon. So, if you need something to help make ends meet where you can earn anywhere from minimum wage to $20/hr, then check out the delivery services in your area.
