Pattaya is a world-famous tourist destination in tropical Thailand renowned for its exuberant nightlife, many interesting attractions, world-class shopping, and, of course, its pleasant beaches! There’s something for everyone in this charming seaside town!
Over 10 million foreign visitors flocked to Pattaya’s welcoming shores in 2223, and with good reason! Pattaya is a balmy paradise with all the modern conveniences, and is so lovely that thousands of expats have made it their permanent home! We love Pattaya’s beaches and all the fun watersports on hand to experience. Here are some of our favorite things to do to get wet and wild!
- Kitesurfing – This is a newer watersport on the beach scene that is rapidly growing in popularity all up and down Thailand’s coasts. This challenging style of surfing features a large kite that pulls you along over the waves, and even up into the air! Pattaya has the perfect weather conditions, with high-speed winds that can carry you up to 50 feet high above the water’s surface! Kitesurfing is a physically demanding sport, so make sure to first engage in proper training and maintain a good level of fitness before you fly!
- Scuba Diving – Explore the gorgeous underwater world that lies just beyond Pattaya’s sandy shores by taking part in the thrilling sport of scuba diving! Pattaya is the perfect place to learn, with many qualified PADI course instructors ready to teach you how! Pattaya boasts some of the world’s best dive sites, and has an amazing variety of marine life to experience up close in their watery world! Dive through forests of hard and soft corals as you meet Puffer Fish, Stingrays, Batfish, Moray Eels, Sea Turtles, and more!
- Windsurfing – Pattaya’s stiff sea breezes are great for this fun and thrilling watersport! Stand on your board with your sail billowing before you as the wind sends you skimming across the waves! This is a great opportunity to show off your great new swimsuit, you will be the envy of all the beachgoers watching as you sail by! It’s best to take some lessons from one of the many certified instructors on hand so you can be confident, and avoid taking a lot of splashy spills!
- Snorkeling – This is scuba’s younger sibling, an easy way to enjoy the underwater realm for people of all ages and ability levels. Pattaya is home to a number of pleasant offshore islands surrounded by crystal clear waters, just a few minute’s speedboat ride away! You can jump in from the boat and paddle about the surface, or dive a bit deeper if you are adventurous, there’s an incredible variety of marine life to encounter! If you aren’t very confident in the water, fear not, friendly professional snorkeling guides are available to ease you in, and have you frolicking with the fish in no time!
